Actress Rhea Chakraborty has recently discussed her time behind bars, describing it as "frustrating." She was taken into custody in the aftermath of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput's passing. Rhea spent nearly six weeks at Byculla jail and shared that she encountered some of the most cheerful individuals during her jail period. Earlier, the actress opened up about how she shared a bond with her prison inmates and also did a Naagin dance on the day of her release. During an event, Rhea Chakraborty was questioned about her incarceration, and she responded in a video posted by her, saying, "You're essentially excluded from society and designated a mere number in prison because you're considered unsuitable for society. Consequently, the persona or self-image you've constructed for yourself shatters." She further emphasized that she was in an under-trial prison where every inmate was considered innocent until proven guilty. Describing her time in jail as the "ultimate ordeal," Rhea concluded by saying, "During that period, my life was embroiled in the most severe turmoil. However, deciding between heaven and hell is ultimately a matter of one's own mindset." On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered deceased in his Bandra residence. Subsequently, Sushant's parents filed a case alleging abetment to suicide against Rhea. She was subsequently apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drug-related matter that emerged during the investigation into the late actor's death.
